MEDICAL CARE
for adults and children
Important Info :
Dr Spyropoulos is a General Practitioner located in Strassen, Luxembourg..
A GP in Luxembourg is usually the first doctor you will see for whatever reason you have to see a doctor, unless it's a real emergency. He's usually your family doctor and sees people of all ages (from little children to old people). He plays a central role in healthcare. He's the one who'll tell you (and send you to) what specialist you need to see if he believes you need to see one.
All doctors, labs, nurses, physiotherapists, etc in Luxembourg are "contracted" with CNS. That means that all the fees are regulated by CNS (national healthcare center) - If you are insured by CNS.
Whatever your social security, you first have to pay the doctor, and then you'll send your receipt to get reimbursed. But in the pharmacy, you'll only have to pay the part that is not covered.
At night or weekends, if You need to see a doctor, but it's not a real emergency, you can go to the nearest "maison médicale" so see a GP (open from 20h to 0h during the week and from 7h to 0h during weekends and holidays). There is also a similar service for children at the Kannerklinik. If you go to the ER and it's not a real emergency (life threatening) then you'll just have to wait 4-5 hours usually.
